On April 12, 13, and 14, DPS hosted virtual community meetings to gather feedback for the DPS Board on three applicants for new charter schools seeking to open in fall 2023. These meetings included a short presentation from DPS on how applications for new schools are evaluated and how this relates to the district’s ongoing work around declining enrollment, a presentation from the applicant about their prospective new school, and an opportunity to ask questions of the applicant. Recordings of each of these meetings are linked below, as is the feedback survey. This survey will remain open until Sunday, April 24 at 6 p.m.
The DPS Board of Education will receive documents on the review of these new school applications, including a summary of the feedback provided at community meetings, at their Work Session on June 2, 2022. You can see these documents once they are posted at https://go.boarddocs.com/co/dpsk12/Board.nsf/Public#. The Board will then vote at its meeting on June 9, 2022 whether to approve or deny each new school application.
